I have something important to talk about today. I am going to get real. So, grab a tea, snack or a glass of water and continue reading.
Are you having doubts about yourself, maybe you think you are to fat or to thin so you go on a diet. Or maybe you feel your are not brave or smart enough, you go back to school or do a second or third degree. Maybe you feel like everyone else has a love life and therefore you start dating people just because. There are a million and one things we worry, complain, are confused and frustrated about.
Listen up, real real closely a diet, a degree, partners whatever does not solve your problems.
Here is a true story:
I was often teased, bullied which sometimes comes along with growing up. However on top of that my skin color added another factor to the equation. I remember coming home one day and telling my parents a kid called me the “N” word. I was devastated at first, I knew and understood and appreciated the history behind the word and couldn’t understand why someone would feel the need to call me it. I was nice, I was funny, I did my homework, I didn’t eat my veggies. As far as I was concerned I was just like the person who called me the name.
But here is the game changer:
I knew my history not only that I knew myself. I will highlight it below:
“I knew and understood and appreciated the history behind the word and couldn’t understand why someone would feel the need to call me it. I was nice, I was funny, I did my homework, I didn’t eat my veggies.”
This is what made me strange to most kids growing up, because I had a deep understanding of who I was.
Let me tell you a little something something, stop reaching outside yourself for things and start turning inwards. The surface problems do not get solved through surface solutions you need to dig deeper. You are probably wondering, well what does this have to do with achieving goals. EVERYTHING, and I will explain.
You have heard of affirmations, right? I talk about them a lot on my blog and in my classes. An affirmation simply means wielding something into reality, making it truth. For example: I AM GOING TO ACE MY EXAM.
I have learned long ago that an affirmation was the key to my survival, it was my sanity growing up. It was something I could rely on to tell me the truth. My affirmations were love letters to my younger self.
So in saying that I will provide you with my survival guide, it is something I also do in my step-by-step program. Today I am giving it to you for FREE. This is going to be a Love Letter to yourself.
NOTE: Where-ever there is a blank replace it with your name….
